Teen Poetry Contest

Spring is almost here and that means it’s time for Wake County Public Libraries’ Annual Teen Poetry Contest! From now until April 15th teens in grades 6-12 can submit up to three original poems in their grade category (6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th). This we are featuring a special optional category. Teens can submit an additional poem based on our Summer Reading Program theme, “Every Hero Has a Story”. First, second, and third place winners will be chosen in each of these categories. Winners will be featured on the library’s website and honored at an awards reception at Cameron Village Library in May 16th. The winner of our special category will also be featured on our Summer Reading Program website. The Teen Poetry Contest is the perfect way for Wake County teens to celebrate National Poetry Month this April!
